التقييم وفقاً للتصنيف:
The only good thing about this hotel was the lobby. The historic feel was what we were interested in.
The building was deceiving in comparison to the website pictures. The rooms were disgusting. We were moved from one to another and it progressively got worse and smaller. The queen was more like a double. I have never been to a place with no hot water, dirty bed sheets, extremely outdated and odours that make you ill. I will not reccommend people to stay there and I will be sure to spread the fact that I did not enjoy the few hours we were there before leaving.
Close to all domntown attrations
Location and Architecture
The staff took excellent care of us. We had a couple of issues that were addressed within a very timely fashion. They were very friendly, and always made sure we were taken care of.
We had an issue with the toilet and also we didn't have any working electrical outlets in the room. When told they had someone come up right away on both occasions to fix the problems. The hotel is old so it had a certain appeal about it. It certainly wasn't a 4 or 5 star but where the staff was concerned it made up. For the couple of days we where there it felt like we had our own little apt. mind you a divey little apt, but for the concert and a trip around Detroit it was close to everything we wanted!!!
not clean, very hot room with broken air conditioning
The friendliness of the staff, the cleaniness of the hotel and the location to the sports event that my son and I were attending.
Parking was horrid! There were no parking accommodation whatsoever! They directed us to a parking garage directly across from the hotel but the hotel personnel would not let us part in there as all of the parking was reserved for people attending the Opera. We were told that there were other parking areas but everywhere we went we were told that there was no overnight parking. We ended up parking at a parking meter and having to feed the meter every two hours so that we would not get a parking ticket. I think that if the hotel do not have their own parking area, they should accommodate their visitors by paying for the parking meters as a courtesy to their visitors. This is the only bad thing about my stay.
The convenient downtown location. The lobby was beautfiul.
No central air, the elevator was broke, no wifi in the rooms, the beds were uncomfortable, no extra pillows, had to switch rooms because the outlet over heated on my charger.
the toilet was next to a window - the blind would only come down halfway. It was not acceptable.
Good Location/Good Price
Bed Mattress caved in the middle. I never saw anything as bad as this mattress. Small room with only a small queen bed. Very old and not clean
The location is a 5 minute walk to Tiger or Lion's stadium. Food also within 5 minutes. Very sad news though; I was told be the desk clerk that this property will close the end of October. Being bought out to make room for apartments.
The door locks were a little on the not so secure side. But we made it without any breakins or thefts.
I liked the location and it's proximity to Comerica Park and Ford Field.
The bed was terrible. It sagged in the middle, was broken down, and you could feel every spring. The bathroom was filthy. There were bobby pins from the previous guests still on the floor and the sink dripped. It hadn't been dusted in some time and the tub was stained.
What a great location! That area around the Detroit Opera Theater was perfect for our weekend. We could park our vehicle overnight for just $5.00! After weekend stays in Chicago we could spend close to $100.00 just for parking!! So, we were pleasantly surprised with the small fee. Our room was only $75. but we were on the 10th floor and had a great view of some of Detroit. I feel sad that Detroit has so many empty buildings. Seems like the city is in a deep sleep. It could be so much more. Of course the Milner could use some new paint and flooring but I did enjoy the old building. I hope the Milner can survive and I'd love to see Detroit get stronger, she deserves more. Thanks, Teddy
No complaints really, I knew it was old and probably needed some decorating, but come on - it was built in 1913!! That's amazing. The staff was efficient and I'd come again.
Location was very convenient to downtown Detroit. Foyer was pleasant and reception staff friendly. The breakfast was better than expected and it is good to have a coffee maker in the room.
I booked for a room with two double beds but got a room with two singles - at a slightly reduced rate. The room was rather down at heels, needing a fresh coat of paint. The tv could only get one channel. The shower needed a new nozzle. The room was chilly even with the heater on.
Great location and the best value I could find in the area.
Temp in the room needs to be controlled better, it was way to warm.
The lobby was very nice. The rest of the hotel was disgusting. Our room looked nothing like the pictures they provided on their website. The carpet was disgusting, the curtains were disgusting, the walls were disgusting. The bed was horrible, springs popping through. It was creepy and gross
History! What a treat to stay in a hotel originally named the Henry Clay! The lobby was decorated for the season, the breakfast area was well stocked and the views from the windows were super: Ford Field, CoAmerica Park, Gem Theatre, Fox Theatre etc. It was a perfect location!
Only problem was parking which really was not a problem for we could park in front overnight and just had to be sure to start filling the meters at 7 A.M.
